Write the chapter.
Shoot the video.
Sing the song.
Make the demo.
Get it out of your belly and into the world.
It doesn’t have to look the way you think it has to look.
It doesn’t have to be a mega complex thing.
You don’t need to wow all the people, get a stack of accolades, and truckloads of cash.
All you need is to be real.
Present.
Tender.
Transparent.
Helpful.
Loving.
Someone who isn’t afraid to tell her story, turn her pain into wisdom, and share it all with us so we can leap over the crevasses you fell into.
I have to be that person to birth the dream in my belly.
It takes me 18 months to write, edit, and publish my free eBook The Empathy Project.
I’m acting like this tiny book (16 pages!) is a full-blown 500-page monster. I’m all caught up in making it perfect, getting it just right, and all the other stuff procrastination loves to pile on.
But I know it’s time to put it out there when my eyeballs bleed every time I read it.
Even though I feel like throwing up.
Even though all the gremlins are screaming in my head and dragons are thundering in my stomach.
Even though I’m nowhere near ready.
I have to take my own advice and unfurl my dream.
I have to do my thing and keep it moving, so I do.
And I learn that showing up, doing the thing, and sharing the thing are what matter most. Helping other people learn from my experience because I put it out there.
Birthing a book is no joke, even a tiny one like The Empathy Project, but I’m thankful because I dare to do my thing and walk my talk.
I pour my heart into this dream.
Words on the page to edify, heal, and inspire. Words straight from my heart to yours, sprinkling some love in your world so you’re kinder to the people in your life.
It doesn’t look like I expected, but it’s alive and it’s out there, and that’s what matters.
It’s out there.
What are you holding back from creating and sharing with your world?
How long have you waited for the right time, the right feeling, the right place?
How long have you waited to be ready?
How long have you waited for something to click before you begin?
It’s time to dust yourself off and get going.
We need your voice, your gifts, your message.
Dare to do your thing and put it out there so we can hear, see, and read what you have to say.
Your gorgeous art is waiting.
