Do you ever struggle with feeling like you’re not enough and you need to fix it now?
Or obsess over what you don’t have, what you can’t get, and how fricking hard it is to get from where you are to where you want to be?
Or feel stuck in the muck with no way out?
If you’re anything like me, your answers are probably yes, yes, and yes again.
But it doesn’t have to be that way, so here’s my simple mind hack to stop limiting yourself:
Focus on what you do have and what you can do with it.
See, you and I compare ourselves to other people all. The. Time. We want bigger, better, faster, and we want it right now.
But if you dig a little deeper, you want more than just feeling better than the next person because you have something they don’t.
You wanna feel loved, joyful, gorgeous, strong, and smart.
You wanna be on top of your game, and you want the experiences that make you feel that way.
So when you shift your focus from what you don’t have to what you do have, you figure out how to use what you have to feel the way you want to feel.
And that means you switch from thinking,
“I’ll be on top of my game when . . . .”
to thinking,
“How can I feel on top of my game today?”
See the difference?
You stop limiting yourself when you focus on what you have right now and what you can do with it.
You stop limiting yourself when you stop freaking out over alllll the things the cool kids are doing and how quickly they’re doing it.
You stop limiting yourself when you make each day an adventure to explore what you’re capable of and shine bright.
When I started my blog 10 years ago, I had no idea what I was doing. My first posts were awkward ramblings that should’ve never seen the light of day, LOL.
But I kept writing. I needed to know what I was capable of even though life was challenging.
I wanted to write words that showed people they weren’t alone and they didn’t have to be afraid.
So I started a free blog and fumbled my way through until I found glimmers of gold at my fingertips.
I switched my focus from what I didn’t have (perfect circumstances) to what I did have (a laptop, free WiFi) and what I could do with that (write the words burning in my belly).
It wasn’t pretty and it wasn’t perfect, but I did it anyway, and it changed my life.
Next time you feel stuck because you can’t do something (yet), ask yourself this:
“What can I do today with what I have?”
Then go ahead and do it.
Because you are a superstar, and you are enough.
How will you stop limiting yourself today?
