The No. 1 Secret to Finding Yourself

Hello, lovelies! Today I have a soul-stirring guest post from Leanna and Kevin over at The League of Champions. It’s all about being who you are . . . without waiting for some special thing first. Enjoy and show them some love when you’re done reading! :)

Do you ever feel like…

You have to engineer an irresistible persona to get people to like you?
You can’t unleash the real you until you’re done baking?
You’re a work in progress that will never be complete?
No one hears your voice in a deafeningly loud world?

People say, “Be yourself.”  But what is “yourself?”  Luckily, the solution can be found in one simple secret.

Many of us have this problem of finding ourselves.  You’re not abnormal, or broken, or on the wrong track if you feel this way.

We’ve all be told, one time or another, that we “should” be something that was different from what we wanted to be.  So then we start to think, “Well, maybe I’m wrong, maybe I should be something different…” and we question ourselves so much, we forget what we really were in the first place.  Or maybe we were told, “That’s just the way things are,” by someone who hadn’t bothered to find out if things could be other ways, too.  So then we began to think we had to accept a reality that we didn’t want.

It’s because of all the moments you were told not to follow your gut, that your gut was wrong, that you now feel like the real you – who knows all the right answers – is eluding you.

All these moments can be undone, however.  You can get in touch with your true self simply, right now, no waiting.  The biggest secret to finding yourself is… to stop looking.

The real you is not someone who has to be stitched together from pieces of what you think you should be, or someone who’s still being shaped and formed, or that ultimate personality you‘ve come up with in your head.  Of course we continue to grow and change, so think of that as an expansion of the true you.  But the true you is already here.

To stop looking means to stop putting on an act.  Sometimes we act a certain way because we’re around certain people.  Or, even when we’re alone, our choices reflect what we think the outside world will accept.   Doing this is like putting on a mask we think everyone else will like.  To take off the mask, just stop editing yourself.  The true you is already here.  It has always been underneath the mask, because it’s how you’d naturally act if you weren’t pretending. The Radiant Heart Warrior

Hello, lovelies! How’s it going? I know it’s been a while since I updated my blog. Apologies. Life’s been rather crazy lately.

Anyway! Today I wanna share two guest posts I’ve written for my blogger friends. Well, one guest post and one interview, really.

First up is the one I did for the delightful Kathy of Bliss Habits. Kathy’s blog is all about the different ways we can add bliss to our everyday lives and she has 13 “bliss habits”  as markers to show the way. I wrote Got Trust? when I saw her Twitter invitation for a guest blogger to feature on the topic; check it out and let us know what you think! :)

Next is the interview I did with my friend Alejandro of Enso Journey for the Hall of Warriors. He dubbed me The Radiant Heart Warrior  and I got this AWESOME illustration below to go with it. 😀

That’s pretty much it, just wanted to share those with you. Go forth and shine, people.

Soul Visionary? Say What?

When I look at the soul, my line of vision splits in two: I see it as it is, and as it could be.

Are you weighted down? You can be lifted up.

Are you wilting? You can bloom.

Are you cowering in fear? You can stand tall, bold and unashamed.

Are you searching? You can discover what you seek.

Are you thirsting? You can be fully satisfied.

What I do as a soul visionary is to visualise what we’re capable of when we let ourselves go. What’s holding you back?

Why are you holding you back? Continue reading

Do You Ever Feel Naked?

Raw.

Vulnerable.

Exposed.

All your protective layers ripped away to reveal the part of you longing to burst out into the world, the part that’s fragile and easily daunted by the scope of your visions and expectations.

Do you ever feel naked – stripped down to your very essence with no place left to hide?

Do you ever reach a stage in your growth/evolution where you are lost because you don’t know how to move forward? Where you know the magic exists outside your comfort zone but fear of the unknown grips you so hard you can’t move a muscle? What do you do?

What do you do? Continue reading

Of Cage-Rattlers + Helping Hands

4 weeks ago, I decided to go professional with my blog. My first admission here took a lot to tap out.

I sat down with my journal and teased out my personal brand of magic/my calling, my contribution to humanity, and what I could do to set the world on fire. I felt light and free and clear about my life’s purpose. Cue hallelujah chorus and angels rejoicing.

Then I woke up the next day and the fear began: what if I fail? What can I possibly offer the world that isn’t already out there? HOW will I get started?

Luckily, helpful souls restored my faith in myself pretty damn quick.

The fabulous Nikki Groom calmed my fears when I sent her frantic messages on Twitter and shared her story with me through email; turned out I wasn’t crazy and my emotional roller-coaster was totally normal after such a momentous (and public!) declaration. Phew.

John Kowalski added me on Skype, talked me through the uncertainties, and even shared his own personal word map and infographic that laid the foundation for his heart-centred approach to entrepreneurship. Amazing or what, right?

THEN the incredibly wise and lovably ass-kicking Sandi Amorim rattled my cage during a complimentary 30-minute call and freed my soul to reveal more of herself in my blog. This led to The Bonds Between You and I because Sandi emphasised the importance of being real and true to yourself, of letting out your story complete with emotion, authenticity, and purpose. So I did, and more of you connected with me because of it. To those who commented here and on my Facebook page, I thank you.

But I didn’t start this post to tell you all about my journey and leave it at that. I started it to emphasise the power of declaration.

Things fall into place when you get clear on what you want, why you want it, and what you’re willing to do to get it. Opportunities start flooding in to test your resolve, to see how committed you really are to the process.

How badly do you want that dream? Continue reading

Hello, Universe? Is That You?

I feel like the universe is speaking to me. I’m finding my way to lots of smart, sparkling, awesome women living their dreams and writing/speaking/teaching about it. They all have blogs. Most or all of them swear by yoga. A lot of what they have to say is in tune with my personal philosophy.

Now, here’s the interesting/scary part: 95% of them are coaches.

Dear universe, what does that mean for me? Am I being called to become one or to get one? I’m all for it if it’s the latter; just hand me the dosh and I’ll book some sessions faster than you can blink, LOL.

If it’s the former, hmm. I’m not really sure what I could offer potential clients besides maniacally repeating, “Go for it! Yes you can! I know you can! :D”, ha ha.

OK now, let’s be serious. It’s truly serendipitous how these great women are crossing my path within days or even hours of each other, all with the same message:

Do it now. Trust yourself. Be open. Every risk is worth it. Have faith.

This is the part where I discover if I can walk my talk or not; if I can leap off the edge and trust my wings to carry me; and if I can believe that what I thought what “just” a dream can actually become my reality.

When I wrote The Power of Gratitude, I mentioned Rhonda Byrne’s book The Secret and its effect on me. The book’s major theme is the Law of Attraction, something that’s really been at work in ways I can’t even begin to fathom. How else would expert coaches find and follow me on Twitter, then ask to share my words because they love my blog? Yup, Lisa Hayes of Good Vibe Coaching Academy did just that. We even connected a bit afterwards and chatted about life in general. Oh, and did I mention she’s a Law of Attraction coach?

This is why I’m wondering if the universe isn’t trying to tell me something. I’ve been wishing to find a community where I belong, a path I can call my own, so maybe I’m experiencing the results right now? How fabulous. :)

When you’re clear about what you want and trust it will come to you, it does.

When you tap into gratitude and say “thank you” not just for what you have but what you will get, it manifests.

When you believe that abundance is yours and your desires are worthy, they happen.

Nobody has all the answers. We’re all learning through life’s journey. But the answers are there if we are conscious of and receptive to them. They’re always there; waiting, calling, glowing; urging us to open our hearts and minds and see them. To feel them. To know they’re waiting to give us all we hope for and all we need.

Is the universe trying to tell you something today? Are you getting signs to embark on a particular venture or make room for something new? Have the courage to answer and everything you need will come your way if you let it. If you believe it. If you dare.

You can. I know you can. I know you will. :)
