Raise your hand if you keep thinking you must isolate yourself to do your best work. (Slowly raises hand.)
Yes, there’s a time and place to throw your headphones on and shut the world out, but it’s not always what you need to discover your star ideas.
You gotta get out there and be inspired by what you see, hear, touch, taste, and smell.
You gotta go to beautiful parks, exotic cities, and vibrant spaces that challenge you to enjoy the stuff you’d normally gloss over.
Stop trying to create without enough fuel for your fire; you’ll only get bland, one-dimensional work, wriggly discontent in your bones, and prickly illusions of your incompetence.
There’s a better way, y’all.
Immerse yourself in all sorts of gorgeous art splashed across different media to grow your soul and flex your genius.
Read incredible books and blogs. Explore vibrant music that thumps in your blood and makes you dance ’til you drop.
Travel. Take pictures. Write about your favourite people and experiences. Make phenomenal memories.
Inhale the words, images, sounds, smells, and textures that stretttch you until you feel your neurons blazing.
Then go into your tower and pour out all the different stimuli into a robust container brimming with your own colours and flavours. Make stuff that lights you up and makes your tribe feel invincible.
Don’t lock yourself up in your tower just because you wanna be original and make beautiful, vibrant art.
Get out there. Drink deep from life. Transform the everyday into the extraordinary.
Craft a richer, fuller life rhythm that makes you feel incredible from the inside out.
Because if something isn’t growing you, challenging you, or energising you, then it’s way too small for you, and that’s not why you’re here.
You’re here for love, joy, beauty, and amazing experiences.
You are here for more, and more is here for you.
