Ever feel so stuck in your head that you need a crowbar to pry you loose? Routines get boring, life feels stale, and you can’t shake off the fog.
What do you do? You go on the hunt for fresh insights, new blood, and the hottest trends or latest hacks to test drive.
Here’s the problem with that, though: None of it helps if you’re not hands-on and growing through the process. If all you do is learn, learn, and learn some more, you’re cheating yourself out of real transformation and the space to thrive.
When you’re stuck because you’re not doing anything, you’re not trying, failing, and tweaking your way to what works. You’re staring at the pool trying to memorise the perfect butterfly stroke instead of jumping in and doing your laps to get better.
You don’t get a gold star for passive learning. You don’t soar if all you ever do is sit and stare at the sky without flexing your wings or getting off the ground. You don’t develop the muscle and stamina to run a marathon unless you get off the couch and do your laps over and over again.
Maybe you’re stuck because you’re inactive, reeling from information overload, or don’t even know what you think because you’re so focused on what other people think. Maybe you’re stuck because you gotta get your hands dirty and work your way out of your rut, not think your way out.
Yes, you need to think things through, but you also need to act. How can you grow if all you ever do is think yourself to death?
You only grow when you use what you know to play a better game. You thrive when your momentum launches you over ruts and roadblocks because you’re living and learning in the real world, not in your head.
You don’t need another book, coach, course, or podcast to inspire you. You need to apply what you already know and get the most out of it before you go looking for more. You gotta experience tangible results that move you forward and grow through them, not through your imagination.
Tangible results show what works and what doesn’t. You discover your weak spots and how to fix them when you have enough hands-on experience, not when you have enough information in your head.
You don’t become the best writer because of what you know about writing. You become the best writer when your words come alive and pulse with power.
You’re not an exceptional artist because you go to exhibitions and art galleries every chance you get. You’re an exceptional artist because how you adorn a canvas is as deep and complex as what you know about painting.
You’re not an elite athlete just because you know the sport in and out. You’re an elite athlete when you train long and hard enough to dominate the game every day.
Tangible results get you unstuck because they keep you on your toes. You’re focused on solving the problem with your personal experience, not mental calisthenics. You sidestep the rabbit hole of endless “what ifs” and try different things until you find the sweet spot that dissolves the rut you’re in.
Ante up. Get out of your head. Test drive what you know and keep tweaking ’til you get where you wanna go.
